Reactive Signs make the Optimum Padel brand pop

Optimum Padel, Leeds’ newest premium padel venue, approached Reactive Signs to provide various signage components internally and externally at their new 8 court centre located in Cross Green Industrial Estate – just minutes from Leeds City Centre – Optimum Padel brings a premium playing experience with world-class facilities, high-spec courts and year-round indoor play.

This project began towards the end of 2025 with a consultation discussing various options based around some initial drawings provided to us by Optimum Padel.    We considered various finishes, materials and illumination options along with a providing basic outline of the installation process.  This ensured the client had a good understanding of timeframes to ensure we could work alongside the other contractors during the build phase of the site.

Check out the Optimum Padel website here.  You can book a court via Playtomic.

Cafe & Social Lounge - Internal Illuminated Sign

The social area of the site includes an integrated specialty coffee shop and heated spaces – perfect before a match or to unwind after.

We manufactured, supplied and installed a 2m diameter, illuminated OP logo.  This included artificial foliage which really ties in with the feel of the social area.    The body of the sign is powder coated in gold with an opal perspex face.  The sign featured in a photograph which appeared in the media with a host of local sports legends such as Josh Warrington, Stuart Dallas, Liam Cooper, Kalvin Phillips and many of the current Leeds United Squad who we’re invited to the VIP opening night.

Court Number Boxes

The court number boxes were manufactured from aluminium and designed to be illuminated at in future.  They are a double side box with opal acrylic numbers.  Manufactured at 100mm deep to allow for the illumination when required.  The were installed directly to the court framework with some spacers to allow clearance from any existing fixings.   Powder coated to the brand guidelines, these boxes perfectly tie in to the OP look.

External Signage - Illuminated Flexface and standoff perspex letters.

The site required 2 external signs to catch the eye from a distance.  We explored various options on these and decided to illuminate the OP logo using a Flexface.  This was a 2 metre diameter circle tray with a Flexface front.  The lettering was made from 10mm thick perspex and attached using standoff fixings to lift the lettering slightly from the corrugated cladding.   This required some careful planning to ensure the fixings landed in the right places.  We drew up a template well in advance of the manufacturing process.  The time spent working on the templating is more than made up when it comes to installation.  We looked at various printing profiles on the face substrate to ensure the illumination was just right, ensuring the black stayed black and without washing out the blue of the logo.

Access equipment was hired in for the installation and our IPAF certified installers made full use of the extendable deck on the scissor lift to ensure safe and efficient working.

3d Printing

We produced some 3d printed toilet and shower symbols to apply to the locker room doors. The models were created in house and manufactured using a PETG filament which is hydrophobic, making it suitable for the shower areas.  We recently invested in a multi-colour/multi-material 3d printer which allows us to produce custom made 3d models.  These were very simple and in reality could have been manufactured in perspex in a more traditional way but it seemed like a good opportunity to make use of our new printer.
